📚 Math Tutoring
Personalized math tutoring is offered for students in Grades K-8 through Algebra 1, using the Common Core curriculum as a foundation, with flexibility to adapt based on parent preferences and student needs. The first session includes an in-depth assessment to identify the student’s current level, strengths, and areas for improvement. Detailed results are shared with parents. A customized learning plan is then developed based on the assessment and conversations with the student about their learning needs and gaps. Support includes concept instruction, guided practice, homework help, and test preparation. Lessons are tailored to the needs of each student and may use pre-printed worksheets, online resources, and digital textbooks that correspond to the student's school curriculum. Resources are selected from trusted, curriculum-aligned sources to provide a variety of problem types and meaningful practice. Flexible scheduling and make-up lessons are available when needed. 💻 Scratch Coding
Scratch is a great starting point for students who are new to programming. Its drag-and-drop coding blocks allow students to focus on programming logic and core concepts without having to learn programming syntax at the same time. This helps students build a strong foundation in concepts such as variables, loops, conditionals, and problem-solving before moving on to text-based programming languages. Scratch also makes learning programming fun and engaging. Students can create interactive stories, animations, and games while applying the concepts they learn, making it an enjoyable way to begin their coding journey. Classes are held weekly and include bite-sized coding challenges that gradually increase in complexity. While each session builds on prior lessons, the course is carefully structured to ensure that all essential concepts are covered during class time. This allows students to comfortably join mid-course or return after a missed session without falling behind. 🐍 Python Coding
Python is a great language for students ready to begin serious text-based programming. Its clean, intuitive syntax allows students to focus on programming logic and problem-solving without being overwhelmed by complicated syntax. Students progress through three levels: Python Basic introduces variables, loops, conditionals, and other fundamental concepts, helping students develop the ability to write basic programs and build programming logic. Python Intermediate focuses on practical data structures and techniques used in real-world programming, including lists, dictionaries, strings, and functions for organizing and structuring code. Python Advanced builds on these skills with more advanced topics such as modules, libraries, file handling, JSON, error handling, and object-oriented programming (OOP). One-on-one and small-group options are available. 🌐 In-Person or Online
